Where does the patient live? He lives in Marion County.
When was the case reported? The patient called the Indiana State Department of Health Thursday night and was asked to go to Community Hospital North, according to Community Health Network Chief Physician Executive Dr. Ram Yeleti.
What symptoms did the patient have? The patient had mild symptoms, including a sore throat, low-grade fever and a cough.
How did the patient contract coronavirus? Officials say the patient recently traveled to Boston and was possibly exposed to known cases there.
How was the patient treated? Officials say the emergency department at Community North Health was notified before the patient arrived. Doctors dressed in protective gear met the patient at his car in the parking lot. He was then taken to an isolation room through a side entrance.
After being tested for COVID-19 in the isolation room, the patient went into quarantine outside of the hospital. He will remain in quarantine for 14 days and will not be released until specimens taken two consecutive days at the end of that period test negative for COVID-19.
Did the patient expose others to the virus? The state health department, Marion County Health Department and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will continue to investigate who might have been exposed to the patient, including flight passengers between Boston and Indianapolis.
State Health Commissioner Kris Box said the risk to the general public remains low.
What condition is the patient in?  He is stable and otherwise healthy. Officials will not release additional information about the patient due to privacy laws.
